The Story Behind The Insect Shop

My journey began a few years ago when I became fascinated with bugs and invertebrates. I quickly realised how difficult it was to find reputable sellers, let alone proper advertisements for these unique creatures. When I finally found some, I was disheartened by the conditions they were shipped in. 

These poor little guys had no clue where they were. Being taken from their comfy dens and webs in the wild, and arriving in cramped plastic cups with wet tissue and bubble wrap—far from ideal. Unfortunately, this has become the "standard" for the industry.

 I devoted to change this.

In May 2024, I founded The Insect Shop with a mission to create a space where invertebrate lovers could find everything they need to give their companions the best care possible. I focus on bioactive and natural setups that encourage natural behaviors, allowing these creatures to thrive in environments that mimic their natural habitats as closely as possible.

All of the invertebrates I offer are 100% captive-bred, either by myself or trusted breeders who share my passion and commitment to ethical breeding practices. I personally assemble and package all accessories to ensure their quality, suitability, and functionality. I also design and build each Bioactive Nano Enclosure from ordered glass and made from natural materials, ensuring a perfect, customized environment for your pet to live and thrive in.

My goal is to provide high-quality enclosures that require minimal maintenance, as well as healthy pets that are easy to care for—whether you're a child, adult, or just beginning your invertebrate journey. I believe that insects and invertebrates can be loved by anyone, and I’m dedicated to making that experience as enjoyable as possible. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the habitats to the health of the invertebrates and with a focus on creating a rewarding bond between you and your pet.
